Your balance and payouts

Where your money is: held, due on Monday, paid out, or owed. Empty until card payments are switched on.

Once your shop is connected to Mollie, Your balance on Get paid shows where your money is, order by order.

Card payments aren’t switched on yet, so there’s no balance to show. This guide is how it works once they are.

  • Held: your share of orders you haven’t sent yet, or sent less than 7 days ago.
  • Due on the next payout day: what goes to your Mollie account on Monday, less anything you owe.
  • Paid out: what’s already gone to your Mollie account, and the date of the last payout.
  • You owe: anything to take off your next payouts, like a chargeback. If you’re owed money instead, it says so and pays it with your next payout.

Every amount is your share: the sale, less Handsold’s fee and the card processing fee.

Under the four numbers, each order has a row: Sale, Handsold’s fee, Processing, Refunds and chargebacks, Your share and Payout. The order number opens the order.

Payout says where its money is:

  • Waiting for you to send it: it isn’t marked as posted yet.
  • Held until a date: 7 days after you posted it.
  • Due on a day: it goes in that Monday’s payout.
  • Paid out, with the date.
  • Refunded before it was paid out or Refunded after it was paid out.
  • Paused by Handsold: held while Handsold looks into something. The money is still yours, and Handsold will be in touch.

Why money is heldLink to Why money is held

Your share of an order is held until you mark it as posted (a download counts once it’s delivered), then for 7 more days. That way a refund or a dispute comes out of money that hasn’t left yet.

Mollie needs Handsold to pass your share of a payment on within 90 days. If an order still isn’t marked as posted near that point, your balance warns you, and on day 85 the money goes to your Mollie account anyway. Mark it as posted, or refund the buyer if you can’t make it.

Refunds, chargebacks and what you oweLink to Refunds, chargebacks and what you owe

  • A refund before the order is paid out makes the held amount smaller. After it’s paid out, Mollie takes your part back from your Mollie account.
  • Handsold’s fee is given back in proportion to what you refund. Mollie doesn’t give back its card processing fee when you refund, so that stays with you.
  • A chargeback is the buyer’s bank taking a payment back. Handsold pays it first, then takes it from your shares, and your balance says how much. To challenge it, send Handsold proof of posting or delivery and any messages with the buyer within 7 days.
  • If you owe more than you have waiting, payouts are on hold until it’s cleared, and your next shares go towards it.

Download your balanceLink to Download your balance

Download, at the top of Your balance, gives a spreadsheet of every order: the sale, the fees, refunds and chargebacks, your share, where it is and when it was or will be paid out. It opens in any spreadsheet app.

The owner and anyone who can change settings can download it, and each download is noted in Activity. Monthly statements are on Plan & fees.
