Plans and fees

Free to open. Handsold takes a share of each sale, and a monthly plan makes that share smaller.

Opening a shop costs nothing. Handsold takes a share of each sale instead, and a monthly plan makes that share smaller. Plan & fees is for the shop’s owner only.

MakerHalf the fee on every sale. Worth it from about £360 of sales a month.£92.5%
StudioThe lowest fee, for shops selling over about £1,070 a month.£251%

Every plan has everything you need to run your shop. They differ in the share, the AI help that comes with them, and one marketplace choice: on a paid plan, marketplace buyers can go to your own shop’s pages.

Maker works out cheaper than Free from about £360 of sales a month, and Studio cheaper than Maker from about £1,070. The calculator on Plan & fees works it out for your own sales.

  • Your plan: its share of each sale and its monthly price.
  • Handsold’s fees in this month: the fees on this month’s orders, after refunds.
  • Last 30 days: the fees on the last 30 days of sales.

While card payments aren’t switched on, a note says Nothing is being charged yet, and these are what Handsold would take on your orders so far. Nothing is charged, monthly price included.

  • The item prices and delivery, never VAT. Refunds give Handsold’s fee back in proportion.
  • Card processing isn’t included: the payment company charges for it, and it comes off your share as its own line.
  • The fee is the same whether a sale starts on the marketplace or in your own shop.

Type into Sales in a month and each plan shows what it would cost, monthly price included, with the cheapest marked Cheapest. It starts filled in with your last 30 days, and works before card processing.

Each plan also says the sales it’s cheapest for, and once you’ve had sales, each plan card says what your last 30 days would have cost on it, with Cheapest for you on the one that wins.

Paid plans start once card payments are switched on. Until then every shop is on Free, and nobody pays a monthly price.

Once plans are charged, a dearer plan starts straight away, with the rest of this month taken from your next payout. A cheaper one starts on the first of next month, and Stay on your plan cancels the move. Orders you’ve already been paid for keep the fee they had.

While card payments aren’t switched on, nothing is charged at all. Plan & fees shows what Handsold would have taken on your orders so far.

The monthly priceLink to The monthly price

On a paid plan, the monthly price comes out of your payouts at the start of each month. If that month’s payouts don’t cover it, Plan & fees asks you to Pay by card by a date, on Mollie’s payment page. If it isn’t paid in time, the shop moves to Free.

Monthly price lists each month with its plan, price, what’s Left to pay and how it was paid: Comes out of your payouts, Paid from your payouts, Paid by card, Unpaid or Nothing to pay.

Nothing is charged until card payments are switched on. Paid plans start once card payments are switched on.
