AI helpers

Suggestions for words and photos. You choose what to keep: nothing changes until you do.

The AI helpers suggest; they never act on their own. Each one offers Keep, Try again or Cancel, and nothing is saved, published or sent until you keep it and save.

If you don’t see any AI buttons (each has a small sparkle), AI help isn’t switched on for your shop yet.

Keep, Try again or CancelLink to Keep, Try again or Cancel

Every helper works the same way. Press its button, tell it anything it asks, and it shows you a suggestion. Then:

  • Keep puts it into the form. Where there are several suggestions, tick the ones you want and press Keep the ticked ones.
  • Try again asks for a different one.
  • Cancel throws it away.

Keeping fills in the form, and nothing is saved until you save. Replaces what’s there now warns you before a suggestion would swap out your own words.

Where you’ll find themLink to Where you’ll find them

  • Write it for me, in a product: a name, a description, tags and photo descriptions, from your photos and a few words from you.
  • Make a shop photo, under a product’s photos and on an image in the media library: a clean shop photo or a simple scene, as a new picture.
  • Describe them for me and Suggest a description, in the Media library: descriptions of your images for people who can’t see them.
  • Suggest words, in Settings, Shop details: a tagline and a few words about your shop.
  • Suggest beside the words in the design editor, and Draft it for me in a newsletter.
  • Suggest a reply and Suggest an answer, in Reviews & Q&A.

Buyers’ names and contact details never go to the AI. Check anything it writes before you keep it, and make sure a made photo is still true to the thing you sell.

In a product, Write it for me looks at its photos and anything you tell it, then suggests a Name, Subtitle, Description, Tags, the title and description for search engines, and Photo descriptions. Tick the ones you want, press Keep the ticked ones, then read them through and save.

It only uses what the photos show and what you tell it, so mention sizes, materials and care.

Make a shop photoLink to Make a shop photo

Make a shop photo is under a product’s photos, and on an image in the Media library. Choose Which photo?, then Which look?:

  • Clean shop photo: centred on a soft, plain background.
  • On a wooden table: in a calm, bright room.
  • Flat lay: from above, on linen. Best for flat things like prints and cards.
  • On a shelf: against a plain painted wall.

Press Make my photo; it usually takes under half a minute. You see yours and the new one side by side. In a product, Add to this product adds it to the product’s photos (tick Make it the cover photo if you like); in the media library, Keep it in the library keeps it there. Either way it’s marked as made with AI, and your own photo is never changed.

Check a made photo still looks just like your piece, in colour, size and every detail. Buyers expect what they see.

Describe them for meLink to Describe them for me

When some images have no description, the Media library offers Describe them for me. It looks at up to eight of your newest images without one, and suggests a description for each. Change any of them, untick any you don’t want, and press Save the ticked ones.

Descriptions are read aloud to people using screen readers, and help search engines understand your photos.

Open an image in the Media library and press Suggest a description beside its description. Keep it, change anything that isn’t quite right, and save.

Words for your shopLink to Words for your shop

In Settings, Shop details, Suggest words asks you to describe your shop in a line, then suggests a Tagline and About the shop. Tick the ones you want, keep them, and save.

On the dashboard’s getting-started list, Find the words for your shop does the same, and Use these words saves them to your shop straight away.

Words and photos in the design editorLink to Words and photos in the design editor

In the design editor, text boxes have a Suggest button that writes words for that box, to fit the section. Picture boxes can have Make a photo from one of yours: pick a photo and it makes a wide scene for a banner, saved in your media library. Press Use this photo to put it in the section.

Nothing goes on your shop until you publish your design.

In a newsletter, Draft it for me asks what the email is about. Press Write a draft, and it suggests a subject line, the preview text and the email itself. Tick what you want and press Keep the ticked ones; you can then change every word. Nothing is saved or sent until you say so.

Check every offer, price and date before it goes out.

Replies to reviews and questionsLink to Replies to reviews and questions

In Reviews & Q&A, Suggest a reply under a review and Suggest an answer under a question write a first go, from the review or question and your listing. You can say what you’d like it to say first. Keep it, read it, then post your reply as usual.

Buyers’ names and email addresses never go to the AI: a name is filled in afterwards. If the listing doesn’t say something, like whether a mug is dishwasher safe, the answer leaves a gap for you to fill rather than guessing.

How much you getLink to How much you get

Each shop has a monthly allowance of AI help, which depends on its plan and tops up on the 1st of each month. Writing uses very little; making a photo uses the most.

The owner sees what’s left on Plan & fees, under AI help this month, with roughly how many more shop photos it covers. Each helper shows what’s left under its suggestion too. If it runs out, the helpers say so and everything else works as normal.
