Giving is built but switched off. Until Handsold switches it on, there’s no Giving in Settings, nothing shows in shops and nothing is given. This guide is how it will work.
What’s givenLink to What’s given
- With giving on, half of Handsold’s fee on each of your sales goes to the charity you choose. Handsold gives up half of its own fee, so your fees and your buyers’ prices stay exactly the same.
- It’s Handsold’s money, never yours, and Handsold pays it to the charity itself once a month. If an order is refunded, its part comes off too.
- Every month’s totals are public on Handsold’s giving page.
Choosing a charityLink to Choosing a charity
Under Your charity, choose one from Handsold’s list, then save. Each is a registered charity Handsold has an agreement with. Don’t give keeps Handsold’s whole fee, and it’s how every shop starts.
Changing your charity only changes new orders. If Handsold pauses a charity, it says so beside its name, and nothing is given until it’s back.
Saying so in your shopLink to Saying so in your shop
Say so in my shop shows one line at the foot of every page and on each product page. Handsold writes the words, because it’s Handsold’s money, and What buyers will see shows them exactly. Switch it off and giving carries on without the line.
What your shop has raisedLink to What your shop has raised
Raised through your shop lists each month, the charity and what was raised, from real orders after refunds. Demo and test payments never count.
